Important Note: Amherst.blog is not affiliated with Amherst College. Our team is based in Silicon Valley, and we are deeply disturbed by the ongoing violence and devastation in Gaza. What we are witnessing is horrific—cold-blooded killings, ethnic cleansing, and atrocities unfolding in real time. These are not just tragic events; they are genocide, echoing the horrors of the Holocaust. Sadly, children are being murdered, and the world seems to look away.

This blog is committed to sharing real-time, factual education. If Amherst felt that Amherst.blog was necessary, they would have claimed it. Instead, this platform—along with others like Columbia.blog, Yale.blog, and Stanford.blog—is owned by individuals in Northern California who are enraged by the ongoing violence in Gaza, and now Lebanon.

The history of Israel, along with its ongoing policies, has generated significant resistance, much of it fueled by the systemic racism and oppression that many perceive as apartheid. Every day, innocent lives are lost in Gaza and Lebanon. Let that sink in: children, men, women—entire families—are being killed. And in many ways, U.S. support for Israel is contributing to this loss of life.

We believe it is important to continue educating, sharing facts, and raising awareness about these ongoing human rights violations.
